ICC Attacking Idaho Mosquito Problem Head On

ICC Attacking Idaho Mosquito Problem Head On
You don't have to live in Idaho very long to know that the mosquito might as well be the state bird. As with many other states the problem of mosquitoes in Idaho is a tough job to handle. We here at ICC, have been asked many times, "What are you going to do about the mosquito problem?" We agree that this part of the country does have it's flying insect pests and have hit the ground running with a few solutions of our own. Pictures below is one of four mosquito killing machines used at our camp to trap and kill mosquitoes specifically. They run off of propane and last the entire season long. Robin has them set up in key areas of the camp to create the best impact. They are expensive pieces of equipment, not to mention the cost to refill the propane tanks each camp season, however, we feel they are worth the benefit in keeping our campers comfortable and safe. If you'd like to make a financial donation to assist with continued camp opperations click here.

In addition to the mosquito killing machines, we have also added more bird houses. You may not realize at first thought how effective these are in decreasing the flying insects at our camp until to find out that some scientists say swallows can each up to their weight in mosquitoes each day. This averages out to be 2,000 to 3,000 mosquitoes. So with more bird houses up, we are always accepting additional bird house donations just contact Robin & Sue.
